Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>At least 30 people have died and 22 others have been injured, including 6 in serious condition, following the collapse of a landfill in the Dar es Salaam area of the Guinean capital, Conakry.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at the Dar es Salaam landfill site in the Gbessia municipality of Conakry, after heavy rains hit the capital, according to a local source.<\/p>\n

The landfill collapsed after a wave of heavy rainfall that affected the Guinean capital, leading to the collapse of parts of the site and the destruction of several nearby homes, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Rescue teams have been deployed to search for individuals who may still be trapped under the rubble, recover the bodies of the victims, and provide assistance to the injured.<\/p>\n

State agencies, the Red Cross, defense and security forces, along with medical teams and local authorities, participated in the rescue operations.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister visited the disaster site to assess the extent of the damage and oversee the rescue efforts.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister conveyed condolences and solidarity from the authorities to the families of the victims on behalf of the President and the government.<\/p>\n

The injured have been transported to several health facilities, including the Donka University Hospital in Conakry, while authorities are preparing to take measures to assist those affected by the disaster.<\/p>\n

Search operations at the Dar es Salaam landfill site continue amid fears that the death toll may rise in the coming hours.<\/p>\n
