Africa-Press – Eritrea. The first phase of the construction of a dirt road connecting the administrative areas of Golo and Talha-Nar’e in the Senafe sub-zone was completed on 29 May.
The event was attended by Ms. Leul Gebreab, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare; Mr. HabteabTesfatsion, Governor of the Southern Region; General Filipos Woldeyohannes, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Defense Forces; Mr. Yosuf Saiq, Head of Organizational Affairs of the PFDJ; Brig. Gen. Tekle Kiflai, Commander of the Central Command; as well as Ms. TekeaTesfamicael, President of the National Union of Eritrean Women.
The administrators of the administrative areas stated that residents had long faced transportation challenges, especially in transporting pregnant women and the sick to health facilities. They expressed hope that the construction of the new road will alleviate these problems and commended all those who contributed to the project.
Highlighting the strong involvement of the public and members of the Defense Forces, Lt. Col. Neguse Tesfay, Head of Technical Services in the Southern Region, praised the dedication of the project coordinators and machinery operators.
Mr. HabteabTesfatsion, for his part, affirmed that the regional administration will continue to support the successful completion of the remaining phases of the project.
Awards and certificates of recognition were presented to individuals who made special contributions to the construction effort.
