Forty-three workers from the Orotta College of Medicine and Health Sciences participated in a training program focused on database management. The training emphasized the importance of databases in document management and service delivery. Dr. Yemane Seium, the college dean, highlighted the training’s potential to address existing challenges and called for ongoing investment in workforce capacity.
Africa-Press – Eritrea. Training on database management has been provided to 43 workers of the Orotta College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The theoretical and practical training covered familiarization with databases and their significance in document management, as well as in providing timely and effective services.
Noting that the training will have a significant contribution in upgrading their knowledge, a representative of the trainees called for reinforced investment in enhancing the capacity of workers.
Dr. Yemane Seium, Dean of the College, said that the training, which was provided by experts in the field, will have a significant contribution in addressing the shortcomings the college has been facing and called for its continuity.
Similarly, vocational training ranging from two to four months has been provided to 191 youth, including 116 females, in Adi-Keih sub-zone.
Mr. Ibrahim Barole, head of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch, indicated that the training covered water pipeline installation and motor maintenance, first aid, and beauty salon services.
Eritrea has been focusing on improving its educational and vocational training systems to enhance workforce skills. The Orotta College of Medicine and Health Sciences plays a crucial role in training healthcare professionals, and initiatives like database management training are essential for modernizing their operations. Additionally, vocational training programs for youth aim to equip them with practical skills for better employment opportunities, addressing both educational and economic challenges in the region.
