Africa-Press – Eritrea. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the financial rewards for teams competing at the forthcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, with a total prize fund of $715,000 allocated for the tournament.
Under the announced structure, the eventual champions will pocket $125,000, an amount valued at approximately ₦168.9 million.
The runners-up are set to receive $90,000 as reward for reaching the final.
Each losing semi-finalist will earn $60,000, while nations that exit at the quarter-final stage are guaranteed $50,000.
CAF also outlined payments for teams eliminated in the group phase.
Sides finishing third in their groups will receive $25,000, while teams ending bottom of their sections will take home $20,000.
The prize package reflects CAF’s growing commitment to grassroots and youth football development across Africa, providing added motivation for participating nations.
