Africa-Press – Eritrea. Italian top-tier football league, Serie A, launched an investigation Tuesday against Hellas Verona for the club fans’ racist chants that targeted Napoli’s Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen during a match Monday.
Serie A said it will probe Hellas Verona for the racist chants against the 23-year -old Osimhen.
Napoli visited Hellas Verona and won 5-2 in the first week of the 2022-23 Serie A season. Osimhen scored a goal for his team.
Serie A also said Hellas Verona were fined €12,000 ($12,210) for fans’ insults against Napoli.
