Africa-Press – Eritrea. <\/strong><\/span>After working on the feature for several months now, Meta\u2019s WhatsApp has announced that it will roll out the community feature to users globally, including in Kenya.<\/p>\n

The new feature will be rolled out in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Users will be able to connect to WhatsApp groups via communities.<\/p>\n

They will be able to categorise groups under one label; work groups family groups business groups, etc.<\/p>\n

Users can simply tap on the communities tab which appears at the top of chats on Android devices and the bottom on iOS.<\/p>\n

From the communities tabs, users will create a new community from scratch or simply add existing groups<\/p>\n

WhatsApp said that with communities it aims to raise the bar for how organizations communicate with a level of privacy and security not found anywhere else.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe alternatives available today require trusting apps or software companies with a copy of their messages – and we think they deserve the higher level of security provided by end-to-end encryption,\u201d the platform said.<\/p>\n

The feature will be available on both iOS and Android devices.<\/p>\n

In addition, it has launched two new Group features, including 32-person video calling and groups with up to 1024 users.<\/p>\n

Until now, the 32-people calling feature was limited to voice calls only.<\/p>\n
