Africa-Press – Eritrea. <\/strong><\/span>Global crude steel production rose 3.7% from a year ago in February, according to World Steel Association (worldsteel) data released on Friday.<\/p>\n

The steel production for the 71 countries reporting to worldsteel amounted to 148.8 million in February.<\/p>\n

The world’s number one steel producer China saw a 3.5% hike in its February figure of 81.2 million tons.<\/p>\n

India’s steel production grew 11.4% to 11.8 million tons last month, while Japan’s steel output edged up 1.1% to 7 million tons.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the US produced 6.5 tons of crude steel in February, going down by 1.2% at an annualized pace and Russia is estimated to have produced 5.7 million tons this October, falling 4.4% year-on-year.<\/p>\n

Tu\u0308rkiye, the world’s seventh-largest crude steel producer, posted a 46.6% annual increase in crude steel production to 3.1 million tons in February.<\/p>\n
