{"id":54566,"date":"2026-02-04T18:45:34","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T18:45:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/eritrea\/all-news\/enhancing-organization-and-participation-of-women"},"modified":"2026-02-04T19:32:55","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T19:32:55","slug":"enhancing-organization-and-participation-of-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/eritrea\/all-news\/enhancing-organization-and-participation-of-women","title":{"rendered":"Enhancing Organization and Participation of Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Eritrea. <\/strong> <\/span>Ms. Senait Afwerki, head of the National Union of Eritrean Women in the Southern Region, conducted a meeting with women in the eastern escarpment in the Adi-Keih sub-zone focusing on enhancing organization and participation in education.<\/p>\n<p>At the meetings conducted on 2 and three February in the administrative areas of Igila, Mesgolo Zula, Safira and Karibosa, Ms. Senait indicating the role and contribution of Eritrean women in various stages of the history of the country, called for strengthening organizational capacity and participation in the national development programs.<\/p>\n<p>Noting that education is the bases for development, Ms. Senait said that as teaching women is teaching the society called on administrations and influential people to play due role in enhancing the participation of women in education as well as in the effort to eradicate harmful practices.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Emuna Salah, head of foreign relations at the National Union of Eritrean Women central office, gave extensive briefing on the health, physical and psychological consequences of harmful practices and urged for coordinated effort to control them.<\/p>\n<p>The participants on their part, called for providing support for women who are managing families, conducting sustainable promotional activities with a view to develop political awareness of women, organizing vocational training programs to enhance capacity of women as well as providing due attention for villages regrouping.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-article-footer-note\">Find more news and analyses on <span class=\"ap-highlight-country\">Eritrea<\/span> on the <span class=\"ap-highlight-brand\">Africa Press<\/span> website<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Eritrea.
