Africa-Press – Eritrea. <\/strong> <\/span>The Tunisian national team exited the tournament early, losing 0-4 to Japan in the second round of Group F, which also includes the Netherlands and Sweden.<\/p>\n

The Tunisian team did not perform at its usual level, as seen in its first match of the tournament against Sweden, which ended in a 1-5 loss, leading to the departure of the coach and the appointment of a new one. The team’s defense was weak, and the attack failed to pose the necessary threat.<\/p>\n

Japan opened the scoring early in the fourth minute through Daichi Kamada, followed by Ayase Ueda and Junya Ito adding the second and third goals in the 31st and 69th minutes, respectively.<\/p>\n

Ueda scored again, netting Japan’s fourth goal and his second personal goal in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n

Tunisia, now the third team to exit the World Cup after Haiti and Turkey, finished fourth in the group without any points, while Japan increased its tally to 4 points, placing second, just behind the Netherlands, which leads on goal difference. Sweden sits in third place with three points.<\/p>\n

This match was historic, marking the 1000th game in World Cup history since its inception in 1930 in Uruguay.<\/p>\n

Japan had previously drawn 2-2 with the Netherlands in the first round of the group, while the Dutch team had earlier achieved a crushing victory over Sweden, winning 5-1 in the second round on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The match began with both teams attacking, and Hannibal Mejbri shot from outside the box in the third minute, but the ball went wide of the left post.<\/p>\n

Japan responded with a quick attack that resulted in a controversial opening goal by Daichi Kamada in the fourth minute.<\/p>\n

Kamada received a low cross from the left side by Kaito Nakamura and shot directly from inside the box, putting the ball in the net. However, a video review revealed that Montasser Talbi, a Tunisian defender, was pushed by the Japanese player before the goal was scored.<\/p>\n

Ayase Ueda missed a clear opportunity for Japan in the sixth minute after receiving a forward pass and shooting directly from inside the box, but the ball went far from the goal.<\/p>\n

Ueda sent a low cross from the right side in the tenth minute, but Dylan Bronn cleared the ball just in time for a corner that nearly resulted in another goal for Japan.<\/p>\n

Ueda shot from inside the box, and it could have been a second goal, but Aymen Dahmen, the Tunisian goalkeeper, managed to tip the ball away before it crossed the goal line, and the defense cleared it for a corner.<\/p>\n

The referee reviewed the play with video technology to confirm whether the ball had crossed the line, and the technology confirmed that it had not fully crossed.<\/p>\n

The pace of the match calmed down somewhat before Japan scored its second goal in the 31st minute through Ueda, who received the ball in midfield, advanced into the penalty area, and shot past the defense, placing the ball to the right of Dahmen, ending the first half with Japan leading 2-0.<\/p>\n

At the start of the second half, Japan continued its attacking momentum, with O Tanaka firing a low shot from outside the box in the 48th minute that went just past the right post. Tunisia responded with a low cross from the right side in the following minute that went past Mejbri.<\/p>\n

Ueda shot from outside the box in the 62nd minute, which deflected off the defense for a corner that resulted in nothing, before Japan scored its third goal in the 69th minute through Junya Ito, who received a brilliant through ball from Ayase Ueda, putting him in a one-on-one situation, and he shot from inside the box, placing the ball to the left of Dahmen and into the net.<\/p>\n

Japan extended its lead with Ueda’s fourth goal in the 84th minute, receiving a precise cross from the right side by Kaishu Sano, and he headed the ball into the net with a lob over Dahmen, concluding the match with a significant victory for the Asian team.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the 48 participating teams in the World Cup were divided into 12 groups, with 4 teams in each group, and the top two teams and the best 8 third-placed teams will qualify for the knockout stages.<\/p>\n

This marks the second defeat for Tunisia against Japan in the World Cup, having previously lost 0-2 in the group stage in 2002 in South Korea and Japan.<\/p>\n

Additionally, this is Tunisia’s third loss against Asian representatives in the World Cup, with one draw, and it is the heaviest defeat the team has faced in the tournament.<\/p>\n

After conceding 9 goals in its first two matches of the tournament, this is the highest number of goals Tunisia has conceded in a single World Cup edition in its history, surpassing its previous negative record of 8 goals conceded in the 2018 edition in Russia.<\/p>\n
