Africa-Press – Eritrea. <\/strong><\/span>Asmara, 19 June 2022- Prayer services in connection with 20 June, Martyrs Day were conducted at St. Michael Church and Al-Khulafae Al-Rashideen Grand Mosque here in the capital Asmara.<\/p>\n

The prayer service at St. Michael Church that was conducted at morning hours of today, 19 June was attended by members of the Holy Synod of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, Archbishops and a number of the faithful.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Merigeta Simon Beyene from the Office of the Patriarch, indicating that Eritrean Martyrs have sacrificed their priceless life for the sake of the Eritrean people and country, said that Martyrs Day is a sacred day in which every citizens renews pledge to live up to the expectations of martyrs.<\/p>\n

Similarly, in the afternoon hours of today, Salat and Dua service was conducted at the Al-Khulafae Al-Rashideen Grand Mosque preceded by Sheik Salem Ibrahim Almukhtar, Mufti of Eritrea.<\/p>\n

At the occasion, Sheik Salem Ibrahim Almukhtar said that the history of Eritrean Martyrs is portrayed by comradeship, perseverance as well as caring for each other and called for transferring the noble values to posterity.<\/p>\n

Sheik Salem Ibrahim also called for reinforced contributions in support of families of martyrs.<\/p>\n
