Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini giants Mbabane Highlanders have acquired the services of two players who campaigned in DStv Premiership in recent seasons.

Highlanders, playing in the Eswatini Premier Soccer League, unveiled the duo alongside two other signings in Aristote Tamuzi and Mpendulo Tfomo.

Former AmaZulu striker Josef Lekata, re-joins the Eswatini outfit coached by a South African in Seloatse Mosala and Lesotho international, Tshwarelo Bereng once on the books of Swallows, Chippa United and Black Leopards penned a deal with Highlanders as a free agent

But the Mbabane-based side did not disclose the contract duration of Lekata and Bereng.

The 34-year-old Lekata played 14 matches for Usuthu in 2013, scoring two goals. He also has stints in the second-tier league with FC Cape Town and Vasco Da Gama.

Meanwhile, Bereng, who last played for TS Sporting has featured 81 times in South Africa’s topflight with four goals and five assists to his name.

Highlanders are strengthening their side as they are set to take part in the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup.

They will tackle DStv Premi side Royal AM at home on September 9, followed by the reverse fixture on September 16 away in KwaZulu-Natal in the preliminary round stage.
