Africa-Press – Eswatini. Alpheous Nxumalo, the eSwatini Government Spokesperson says the State will provide protective gear and other material amid the ongoing shooting of security officers.
In a public statement released on Thursday, the Government Spokesperson wished the officer who was allegedly shot this week, a speedy recovery.
“Government takes this opportunity to wish the injured police officer a speedy recovery. In line with His Majesty’s command, Government, within the limited resources available, will continue to provide the necessary support to the country’s security forces and provide the required protective gear and other essential material while they execute their duties,”reads the statement in part.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
