Africa-Press – Eswatini. Barnes Dlamini, a member of the Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA) National Executive Committee(NEC) says incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mthandeni Dube and Bacede Mabuza will be released by the people.
Speaking during a community engagement event at Ngwempisi organized by the MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF),Dlamini said the power to release the MPs was vested upon the people.
“Mthandeni Dube wouldn’t be in jail if you didn’t elect him as your MP so the solution to release these MPs will come from you,” said the SWADEPA NEC member.
MPs Mthandeni Dube and Bacede Mabuza were arrested merely for demanding democratic reforms after an order allegedly issued by King Mswati, they are facing politically motivated terrorism charges.
