PHETSILE MASILELA’S LIVE RECORDING A BLAST

Africa-Press – Eswatini. GOSPEL star Phetsile Masilela brought the house down during her live DVD and CD recording.

The recording was held at Worship Centre International Church on Saturday night.

The MCs of the night were Nathi Gule and Zodwa Thwala. Curtain-raisers Siphelele Masilela, Ndumiso Makubule and Buhle Matsenjwa mesmerised the audience and heated up the place. It was 8:45pm when the Lillies Mass Choir made their performance for the recording.

The 20 girls who were beautifully designed purple dresses, hair and make-up frenzied the crowd up as they sang and danced. They sang new and old songs such as ‘Umoya wami’, ‘Uyabusa’ and ‘Lillie of the valley’. The creativity in terms of presentation was beautifully executed with the ladies opening off the recording with a firework worthy performance.

Surprise act, multi award winning comedian Mdura came on stage, delivering a great show and getting the crowd ready for the star of the night. Phetsile Masilela wowed the audience with her stunning gown but more over her angelic voice as she made her way onto the stage singing.

These performances were done in the presence of recognised guests Apostle Justice Dlamini and his wife, His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General Phindile Dlamini, members of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA) Vice President Mxolisi Vilakati and others.

The first supporting act to join Phetsile on stage was Phathwakahle who was then followed by Phindlie Phoky Makhabane, Banele Dlamini, Khanyisile Myeni, Lomkhosi Makhubu and Nothando Dlamini. The crowd could not control itself as they stood right next to the stage, praising and worshipping as the gospel stars delivered hot sets. Mxolisi Mbethe and Godfrey Mondlane were the only male supporting acts of the night.

Prayer

Before the show ended everyone broke into prayer, Phetsile speaking in tongues and everyone on their feet.

Masilela said she was happy with the turnout and that she did not expect the show to be this beautiful.

“I think all that happened here could never amount to anything ever done. Honestly speaking I did not think the Lillies would sing the way they sung tonight. I see God’s face shining on me and thank God so much,” she said. She stated that her biggest highlight of the night were the fans. Seeing how they resonated with all the songs she said.

“I have never seen crowds of people sing all my songs from start to end. We thank our supporters because we can sing and do it all but without them we are nothing,” she said.

Masilela further appreciated the presence of the guests who supported them, mentioning the commissioner general, her pastor, the church, her family, sponsors Destiny Music, Junior Achievers, SMVAF, PSPF, MTN Eswatini and many more.
