Africa-Press – Eswatini. Sergeant Sabelo ‘Meadowlands’ Simelane, the resigned pro-democracy cop has been abducted by Mswati’s police officers.
Simelane, a member of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) was among political activists who attended a protest at Montigny Investments, Bhunya on Friday in solidarity with oppressed workers.
Nontsetselelo Nkambule, the Deputy Chairperson of Manzini region PUDEMO Youth League who was also on the ground in solidarity with the workers confirmed the abduction of their member.
“It’s true, he has been abducted with another PUDEMO member Mphephetse,”said the Manzini region Deputy Chairperson of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO), a PUDEMO Youth League.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Oppressed workers of the politically connected Montigny Investments continued with their protest on Friday in demand for better working conditions, the protest started on Thursday.
