Africa-Press – Eswatini. EBET has donated 403 sanitary pads (worth E5 000) towards comedians; Mdura and Dr Shakes’ ‘Help the Girl Child’ initiative. Presenting the pads to the comedians was Ebet team lead by the entity’s Chief Operations Officer John Tinashe yesterday at Ebet headquarters in Mbabane. Ebet is a licensed sports betting company registered under the Gaming Board of Eswatini.
They specialise in bookmaking and virtual online games. “We are giving out these pads as Ebet to the comedians; Dr Shakes and Mdura who have been doing a wonderful initiative on Dr Shakes’ birthday. “They have been doing this for a while now.
They have been giving out these sanitary pads and as Ebet, we would like to give back to them and say look, we are inspired also we are giving pads to the girl child. We urge other companies to join us and give back to the society. Let’s bring up the girl child in a positive and enabling environment. As Ebet we are here for the community and the people.
We are who we are because of the people. We would like to say thank you Dr Shakes and Mdura,” said EBET Public Relations Officer Judah Silitshena. On behalf of the comedians, Dr Shakes said they were grateful for the kind gesture from the company.
“We will deliver the sanitary pads where they are needed the most and we urge more companies to come forth and donate so we all keep the girl child in a healthy environment. The situation is really bad in the community where we deliver. Sanitary pads are not the only essential they need. They need more. We invite more hands to join,” he said.
