Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prince Masitsela’s last words were that the nation must remain united because everyone is related and Emaswati are one big family.
The prince’s final words were shared by Prince Guduza at the thanksgiving ceremony for Apostle Jeremiah Dlamini of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Manzini yesterday.
Prince Masitsela, who was laid to rest last Sunday, had assigned his brother to speak on his behalf at the service, where he also donated a cow to cater for the guests.
Apostle Jeremiah hosted the special service just to give praise to God for saving him and the church from all the challenges he faced in his life.
Prince Guduza, who was joined by his brother Gcina, said Prince Masitsela was a firm believer in God and strongly believed that Eswatini was God’s country and pulpit of Africa, hence it was important to remain united.
He said Eswatini was initially a big country but it shrunk to become the smallest country in Africa for a reason.
“It was God’s plan that we remain united as we are all related. If the nation will get to the point of hating each other, no one can survive. In short we are all one big family as a nation, something which I think was God’s making because initially Eswatini was huge but ended up this size for a reason. Emaswati are all related hence it is important to remain united because everywhere you go around the country you get to meet your relative,” he said.
He said Prince Masitsela was a firm believer of the prophecy that Eswatini as the pulpit of Africa would manifest at some point because God’s word never changed.
Adding, he said Prince Masitsela always reminded them that the gospel arrived in the country through King Somhlolo in the royal household.
“This makes Eswatini God’s country. As such we have a responsibility to uphold God’s principles,” he said.
Prince Guduza said as remaining members of the royal family they now had a challenge to try and walk in the footsteps of their departed brother, to love the church as well as give to the church when in need.
The prince said his brother was very supportive to the church, stating that even when the church was allocated a piece of land back in 2010 Prince Masitsela was the emissary of the land allocation process.
“I was by his side as he executed the order from the king to allocate the apostle this portion of land to build the church. Even now he decided to assign me to come and speak on his behalf because we were together when we were tasked to allocate this land,” said Prince Guduza.
He said although Prince Masitsela was no longer alive to see this day, he left an instruction that he (Prince Guduza) spoke on his behalf.
“He comes a long way with the apostle and it is no surprise that on his last day he met with the apostle and gave orders, which included assigning me to speak here. In fact on the day he died, he had summoned me to join him in a meeting with foreign media, which wanted to interview him on the history of the Zulu and Eswatini Royal families,” he said. Prince Guduza then gifted Apostle Jeremiah with a cow, stating that he was adding on the gift from his late brother.
“This is also my way of giving thanks to God Almighty who has kept me alive to see this day. I have been through a lot but God has been faithful to me and saved me from many things,” he said.
Speakers at his memorial service expressed sadness, wherein they declared that this is when his wealth of wisdom was needed the most to resolve the current political impasse.
He was described as an advocate for peace and stability and believed people needed to engage and find a solution to whatever misunderstanding and conflict they might be having.
Meanwhile Apostle Jeremiah said Prince Masitsela died a good death in that he held on to Christ his very last day on earth.
“I was privileged to have met the prince on his last day, which is when he gave orders that a cow needed to be given to me for this ceremony. It was on that day where he also gave orders to Prince Guduza to come and represent him at this service as though he knew he would no longer be around.
“I thank you prince for honouring your brother’s wishes to be here on this special day.
He is smiling upon us wherever he is right now,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by people from the various branches, as well as guests from South Africa. All speakers had positive things to say about the apostle and how he had impacted their lives.
