Africa-Press – Eswatini. Barely two weeks after signing a Memorandum of Under-standing (MoU) with government following a pitch by His Majesty King Mswati III during a business seminar, officials from United Arab Emirates (UAE) company, EMI Gate Holdings, are in the country for follow up meetings.
The company’s founder and President, Her Excellency Fatima Alkaabi is leading a nine-member delegation, and they started by paying a courtesy visit to acting Prime Minister (PM) Themba Masuku, who said he was impressed by the visit, as he felt it demonstrated true commitment.
“This company is on record expressing interest to explore opportunities in sectors including mining, construction, ICT, cyber security, energy, agri-business and tourism. We are ready to assist by providing the information you require to enable you to make informed decisions,” said Masuku.
He assured the delegation that government had undertaken a number of initiatives to improve the ease of doing business in the country.
“We have an attractive package of incentives to enable investors to remain competitive and well-positioned to take advantage of the bilateral and regional agreements to which the kingdom has access. I am certain you will learn more about those during the course of your engagements,” he said.
He promised that they would receive the necessary attention and priority with the leaders of various organisations and ministries that they would visit.
“We are grateful for the hospitality offered to His Majesty and the delegation when they visited your headquarters in Abu Dhabi where His Majesty met with you to discuss potential areas of mutual interest and cooperation,” thanked Masuku.
Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo said the ministry was happy to have the delegation in the country, and said they were ready to assist wherever they were needed.
“This week they will be visiting a lot of organisations, getting to know their projects opportunities and then finally come back to tell us where they have decided to participate,” he said.
According to their website, EMI Gate Holdings’s investments are on tourism investment, health, trade, media, tourism real estate development, hospitality, facilities management and security.
