Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture, (ENCAC) CEO Stanley Dlamini says creatives should take advantage of the festive season.

Dlamini said COVID-19 halted the entertainment industry for the past two years.

He said creatives should be more active this festive season.

“This will be our first festive season after the pandemic and we are a bit excited as we believe creatives were moulding their skills for this season,” he said.

Dlamini encouraged event organisers to host more fruitful shows that would create a podium for the local industry to grow and to survive on its own.

“If there’s one thing the pandemic has taught us was thinking ahead. This festive season will challenge us on our thriving skills. “I also appreciate the fact that artists had their creative caps during the pandemic as they utilised the digital space. With the festive season, we hope to see more different concepts that will also help the local industry survive on its own,” he explained.

The CEO said the local industry was capable of exporting and importing craft which can positively affect the economical scale of the country. “The past three months have proven that Eswatini was a home of true talent. recently four designers and one artists have been to West Africa. We also have our pageants and artist who have been booked in other countries, the list is just endless and it touches on almost all sectors.

With the right support we can contribute to the economical scale of the country just like China and America,” he said.

Dlamini said creatives should produce more this festive season and remember to keep all the health regulations. “I am looking forward to different posters from different creatives. We would also like to plead with the public for support. The pandemic has taught us to appreciate our own and support local creatives,” he said.
