Africa-Press – Eswatini. THE Premier League of Eswatini has confirmed that they would like use the 2022 World Cup period to continue with elite league games in order to add the fanfare during the global showpiece.

The World Cup will be staged between November 26-18 December at the oil rich Arab state.

The continent will be represented by five nations in Cameroon, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia and Ghana in the one-month spectacle.

Premier League of Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Makhanya confirmed the developments.

“It’s true that league games will proceed during the World Cup,” he said.

The Premier League is now on game five, while the National First Division is on game two.

Army side Young Buffaloes are currently leading the chasing pack with 11 points and they are being followed by capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders with 10 points in the elite league.

Hub giants Manzini Wanderers have endured a tough run in the current campaign as they are languishing at the bottom of the log table without a point in five matches.
