Africa-Press – Eswatini. Despite her recent unveiling as Moneni Pirates director, South Africa-born businesswoman Alinah Kebeilwe is not the club’s sole director
This comes after the club maintained its board of directors structure, which include the selling of shares
This was revealed by Pirates Marketing Officer Sibusiso Nkambule.
Nkambule said Alinah has a large stake in the board led by top lawyer Gigi Reid, pending the finalisation of talks between the two parties.
“Our new director will be part of the existing directorship structure and she will have a bigger stake, but we will unpack the details once we have finalised the logistics of the agreement,”
He further revealed that they were still selling shares in the team.
“Anyone is welcome to buy the shares.
“People should not be misled. There is no change in our structures as Gigi remains the board chairperson. Alinah bought shares and registered with the team. She has a bigger stake in the team as she bought more shares. More shares give you more voting power.
We have other shareholders whose names cannot be revealed,” he explained. Nkambule further said they were distancing themselves from Alinah’s relationship with Mbabane Highlanders boss Chief Ally Kgomongwe, adding that they do not interfere in people’s personal lives.
“The team is distancing itself from people’s marriages and personal lives. As you saw in one of the local newspapers that we once rejected Kgomongwe’s E3 million to buy the team. I must say this happened before he even joined Mbabane Highlanders, but unfortunately we did not agree to his proposal since we are a community team,” said Nkambule.
