Africa-Press – Eswatini. SEASONED Mbabane Swallows forward Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst says they are looking to bring back the glory days by competing for honours this season.
Badenhorst said this after the team jumped to the top three bracket after beating Moneni Pirates 1- 0 at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday, where he played an integral role in the Beautiful Birds third win of the campaign.
The lanky forward scored the lone goal of the match and was also named Man of the Match and took home E1 000.
The ex-AS Vita player said his team was looking at competing this season and they needed to close the gap between themselves and the teams above them.
“These three points mean a lot to us as a team and we will continue to work hard as we need something positive this season,” he said.
The soft-spoken forward said he was putting more effort in training and mentioned that as an experienced player he always expected lots of pressure because the supporters were expecting good performance.
The red and white glamour side is currently sitting at position three in the log standings with 12 points after six matches under the guidance of Musa Manyatsi.
Another man of the match award winner was Mbabane Highlanders attacking midfielder Philani Mkhonto who took home E1 000 during the y’ello Sunday double header played at Mavuso Sports Centre.
