Africa-Press – Eswatini. The member of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force who was allegedly killed by two of the arrested suspects who appeared in court this week was fished out from church and killed on site.
The soldier Nkosinathi Dlamini was gunned down allegedly by the two suspects Ncamiso Mabuyakhulu and Philani Sihlongonyane.
This is contained in the composite summary of evidence in the indictment of the two suspects which has been submitted by the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Lomvula Hlophe.
According to the composite summary of evidence, on May 24, 2022 Dlamini was attending a church service at Mahlabatsini in Manzini and whilst in prayer, two people came and requested a child to call his father (soldier ) as they were looking for a flat to rent.
It is stated that when Dlamini came out of the church, the two people shot him and he was taken to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The summary further states that on October 18, 2022 Themba Dlamini was driving his car along Grand Valley road when he saw two men following with a silver badge Honda Fit with no registration numbers.
They approached two police officers Sonnyboy Dlamini carrying a long range rifle R4 and the other officer Irvin Mthembu was standing next to the road.
When the two accused approached the officers, one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officers while the other man proceeded to disarm Dlamini.
They instructed the police officers to lie down and they shot them, boarded the car and drove away.
Meanwhile, it was further stated that on August 12, 2022 Lindani Dlamini was attending a cleansing ceremony at a Mthembu homestead at Ngculwini and he was sitting on the bakkie of a Toyota van with Thulani Mthembu occupying the driver’s seat.
Two men then arrived and shouted “Thulani Thulani uphi Thulani” and found him on the driver’s seat.
thereafter there were gunshots directed at Thulani and one shot was fired towards a group of people who were next to the vehicle while shouting an insult and thereafter they vanished, leaving everyone shocked.
Thulani was rushed to hospital where he later died while undergoing treatment.
The two suspects are facing 29 charges while their third co-accused features only in the contravening of the Arms and Ammunition Act.
