Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Highlanders head coach Dumisani ‘DU’ Makhanya could soon relinquish the hot seat.

This is after the club’s boss Chief Ally Kgomongwe promised to enlist the services of a foreign coach before the end of the current campaign during the special meeting held on Sunday at CODEC, in Ezulwini.

The move could see Makhanya assume the assistant coach position at the capital city giants.

“I am working on bringing a new coach who will make Highlanders play like Mamelodi Sundowns; actually I am presently in talks with three different coaches. We need to get a good coach, someone who will adopt our culture and give players the right training teach them the basics of finishing,”he said.

He further promised to beef up the squad with a striker.

“We need a striker and a defender. I will bring a good striker in January as my target is to go back to Africa,” he said.

Meanwhile, several fans said the team was too big for the former Green Mamba head coach when making submissions before Kgomongwe.

Makhanya rejoined the black and white side ahead of Highlanders CAF Confederation Cup clash against South Africa DStv Premiership side Royal AM as assistant to South African gaffer Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala during the offseason.

The crowd pullers are perched at position five in the MTN Premier League log standings with 13 points after seven matches.
