Africa-Press – Eswatini. NSINGIZINI Hotspurs striker Mancoba ‘Nciba’ Vilakati says he wants to help the club avoid relegation.
He said this after helping his side beat capital city glamour side Mbabane Swallows 2-1 during an MTN Premier League match at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday where he scored the winning goal after coming on as a second half substitute. ‘Nciba’ said he did not have any target but wanted to score as many goals to help his team.
“I cannot say how many, but I want to score as many this season. I am not doing this for myself but the team. This is a great team and that is why I want to double my efforts and work very hard.”
Coming to the match against Swallows, Vilakati said they played well even though it was not an easy game.
“We are a small team that is trying its best. This was a tough game but we managed to match the opposition throughout and eventually got the all-important three points.”
He said the spirit was always high among the players.
Opposition
“We are a bunch of young and energetic players, who are always ready to put up a good fight against any opposition.” He said they believed in hard work and dedication.
“I want to help the team to do better this season. We need to continue working hard and do much better than we did in our previous game. Our aim is to improve with every game.
“Personally, I still want to grow as a player. I am happy with the environment here as it is good for any player to grow.”
He then thanked the club’s President Derrick Shiba, the technical bench, fans and the players for their contribution in the club. “We are always motivated and want to do better. It is encouraging to see our fans cheering the players on during games.
“They came in their numbers to watch the match against Mbabane Swallows and we made them happy. The president is doing so much for the club and we must repay his faith in us by doubling our efforts inside the field of play.”
