Africa-Press – Eswatini. Ludzidzini Royal Residence – The first leg of Buganu Festival will be celebrated next weekend at Buhleni Royal Residence. This was announced by Lutsango Indvuna Lomtfobhi Ndzimandze at Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday.
The Lutsango regiment has been summoned by Their Majesties for the Festival to be held from Friday to Sunday. According to the leader of the Lutsango regiment, the women are expected to make their presentations at the Royal Residence on Friday with the main festivities of singing and dancing on the second day before the regiment is dispersed on Sunday.
“So says the King, Mswati lomnyama kulabalutfuli, Lodungandaba waseMbelebeleni, Lodungandaba waseMampondweni. Bayethe! Wena waPhakathi!” she said. Additionally, Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe announced on behalf of Their Majesties that the dress code is red and orange kanga on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The minister also cautioned that the uniformed regalia would help prevent Lutsango from wearing colourful clothing. Further, Princess Lindiwe emphasised that there would be health officials to test people for COVID-19.
She stated that only those who have tested negative and have proof would be allowed into the arena. “Let me emphasise that only those who have tested for coronavirus and have been found negative will be allowed. Bayethe! Wena waPhakathi!” she stated.
Meanwhile, Minister of health Lizzie Nkosi invited Lutsango last week to get the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the national activities, including the Buganu Festival.
