Africa-Press – Eswatini. The reports of the fuel price drop that comes into effect today have been received as good news for the hospitality industry.

This is according to economist Thembinkosi Dube, who stated that people would have money left to spend on pleasure and entertainment.

The new fuel price is the cheapest it has been in six months, and Dube says this is definitely music to the ears of the hospitality industry, which is still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) research and statistics office, through their current statistics for the local hospitality industry as of 24-26 December, shows very great improvement for the hospitality industry.

According to the statistics, these are the accommodation booking summary for all local hotels, B and Bs and guest houses.

The statistics reveal that for hotels, average occupancy is at 30 per cent, for B and Bs it is at 58 per cent while for guest houses it is at 36 per cent.

Most of the hospitality industry players stated that business was booming for them.
