Africa-Press – Eswatini. MR and Miss Eswatini 2023/24 will be crowned on September 30 at a venue yet to be announced.
This was revealed by Pageants Eswatini Director, Musa Mantinto yesterday.
Mantinto said they would be reviving old pageants and creating new ones to create gender equality.
Miss Eswatini was crowned last year in November with Tania Nunn being the reigning queen, while Mr Eswatini was last crowned five years ago.
Eswatini will this year see new beauty pageants such as Mr Teen Eswatini and Little Mr Eswatini. This is according to Mantinto.
Returning this year will be the Miss Eswatini, Mr Eswatini, Miss Cultural Heritage, Miss Teen Eswatini and Little Miss Eswatini crowning. Miss and Mr Teen Eswatini crowning will be held on July 29, Little Miss and Mr Eswatini on June 24 and Miss Cultural Heritage will be confirmed by cultural committee.
“With that being said we will be opening applications from January 16 for all the pageants except Miss Cultural Heritage of which Miss Cultural committee will confirm the dates,” Mantinto said. The director said they would cast entries of the pageants in different dates.
“We will then publish all the contestants that entered on the website. The public will then vote for their top 10 in each region. We will then invite the public to vote for the top 40 nationwide,” he said.
“From the top 40 we will then start prejudging and voting for the 25 to top 10 then it is going to be road to the finals,” he added.
