Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Football Coaches Association (EFCA) will give Super League coaches a temporary licence to sit on the technical bench during games.

This was revealed by EFCA Chairman Anthony Mdluli when addressing Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA) coaches, who attended the two-day Pre-Licensing Workshop, held at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium over the weekend. Super League is the country’s football third-tier. He said the workshop was the first stepping stone for the coaches to coach at a higher level, but urged them to continue enrolling for courses offered by Eswatini Football Association (EFA).

Hungry

“After this course, those from the Super League will be allowed to sit on the technical bench, because they see that you are hungry to learn and get a licence,” the former Manzini Sea Birds gaffer explained. He was, however, quick to highlight that the provisional licence was not a lifetime licence as the coaches would be allowed in the technical area for half a year. After the six months, they would revoke the temporary licence if the coaches did not continue with empowering themselves with courses by EFA, which officially licenced them.

“For now we will allow those who attended this Pre-Licence Workshop to sit on the technical bench,” he said. He further said that EFCA urged the coaches to join them so that it could produce coaching cards. “The card that you will produce during games will be the one that shows that you are a member of EFCA, which will be made because you attended this workshop,” he said. He finally explained to the coaches that for one to be a full member of EFCA, it was expected that a coach attends a course that would be examined, which carries Licence D. Mdluli said the joining fee was E100.
