Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mlungisi Makhanya, the re-elected President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) says the political party must consider engaging the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) to create a strong collaboration.

Addressing delegates during the recently concluded 10th Elective Congress held at Driekoppies, South Africa,the PUDEMO President said it was time to engage the CPS to work with PUDEMO.

“As PUDEMO, we must consider formally engaging the CPS to strengthen relations with the intention of working together,” he said.

After the Elective Congress,the re-elected PUDEMO President said they would strengthen their relationship not only with the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS)but also with the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland(EFFSWA).

“We will be strengthening our relationship with the CPS and the EFF Swaziland”, he said.

Reached for comments,Pius Vilakati,the Spokesperson of the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS)said one of the key interests of the Communist Party was building closer relations with organisations with whom they share some greater degree of ideological outlook.

”As such,strengthening relations, particularly based on a programme of action.This year, in particular, is important in so far as waging relentless struggles against Mswati’s elections, and a programme of action would be important in this regard.We hope that we are able to forge principled relations, based on the struggle, and the sooner that is done, the better,” said the CPS Spokesperson.

Speaking on Tuesday, Nombulelo Motsa,the President of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland (EFFSWA) welcomed the sentiments by the PUDEMO President adding that this would help in intensifying the struggle for democracy.

“We would appreciate such cooperation with PUDEMO because political muscles are not the same,we need each other to win this battle,” said the EFF Swaziland President.
