MADLANGEMPISI WOMEN THANK GOVERNMENT AND MICROPROJECTS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Vendors from Buhleni, Mandlangempisi have extended their gratitude to the Government of Eswatini and Micro-Projects for providing them with a newly built marketplace.

It was established that the old marketplace the women used was open and exposed to the rain, however, a project was then carried out to build them a sheltered vending space and it has been completed.

Last year, this publication reported on the project’s commencement stage and was in August, which was a month after the June / July unrest which culminated in the burning of properties and schools.

The constituency continued with the implementation of projects that are aimed at boosting Small, Medium Entrepreneurs, especially women-run businesses. In fact, the view was to enable sustainable entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

When speaking and extending their gratitude a number of the women said, it was now going to be easier to run their businesses especially because of the ever-changing climate.

“Our fruits were either getting ruined by the rain or sunburnt and we had to throw them out which was a huge snag on the pocket. We are grateful to the Government for this new structure it will make business easier,” said Simisile a vendor.

Echoing her sentiments, was another vendor Siphiwo Mabuza who has been a vendor for over 10 years in the area. She mentioned how the structure gives them hope and a chance at attracting new customers.

Last year, Eswatini Positive News gathered that the government, through microprojects, successfully constructed three markets across the Madlangempsi constituency.
