Africa-Press – Eswatini. This adage holds true for Tambankulu Callies Football Club, after they unveiled Armaud Oyiba of Gabon as the new co-director for the Lubombo outfit for the rest of the season. Oyiba, who said it was his first time to come to Eswatini, was unveiled by Callies Director Sithembiso ‘Ngudze’ Mamba after Saturday’s 0-6 demotion by Mbabane Swallows. The new co-director will be working with ‘Ngudze’ after being introduced to the players and technical team at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground. “The position of the team is not good and is something we are not happy about. Our main objective right now is to get out of the relegation position and maintain the team to stay in the MTN Premier League. We want to make the team competitive and although the team lost against Mbabane Swallows, which is one of the big teams in Eswatini, but I was left impressed with the players even though we were a man short after getting a red card in the game,” he said.
“I’m not here for the rest of the season but this is something that is a project for me. We will discuss after the season about the way forward but for me I want to see the club competing for league honours in the next three years just like Swallows, who are among the teams that are in contention to challenge for the league,” he added. Callies Director ‘Ngudze’ said they were happy about Armaud’s presence in the club. “The director’s presence will add value in the club and the players are happy to see the director with his wife coming into the club,” he said. Tambankulu Callies will be looking to return to winning ways when they next face Madlenya FC.
