Africa-Press – Eswatini. A Suzuki Boulevard bike is set to be won during a lucky draw at this year’s Swazi Rally.

The bike was unveiled on Sunday at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo. This year’s Swazi Rally will be held on September 1. Last year, it was held from August 31 until September 3 at Riders Ranch. This year’s event will return with the aim of raking in more numbers in terms of attendance, as the organisers announced that they will be expecting to host visitors from overseas. The bike that would be won this year is a Suzuki Boulevard M109R, which has a muscular, innovative look of high performance and high style. The bike is sponsored by Xtreme Trading, and it boasts an advanced chassis built for effortless cruising. It also has an unmatched combination of the latest power-cruiser technology with a V-twin engine designed to produce massive tractable power and responsive torque.

Speaking during the unveiling of the bike was Swazi Rally Director Carlos Paiva, who mentioned that sponsorships for this year’s event were scarce. “A sponsor might be a sponsor this year, but they don’t have to be a sponsor next year. Until you have a memorandum of understanding, you must never be convinced that you will get last year’s sponsor to be this year’s sponsor. This is because the sponsor might change and decide not to sponsor the current event, as they may have sponsored the current event for many years, so it actually happens,” Paiva said.

He went on to share that, at the moment, they have secured two sponsors for the Swazi Rally. “We have two sponsors this year, but we wish we could get more. We have MoMo and Xtreme Trading, who have sponsored us with the grand prize, which is the bike. We managed to convince Xtreme Trading because they are in the family. By any means, we are expecting a lucky draw this year, and it’s going to be the biggest and the greatest because we need to signify our 30 -year celebration. We are glad that they agreed to honour us with our celebration,” Paiva said. During last year’s Swazi Rally, a E200,000 Suzuki 1000cc GSX motorbike was put up for grabs. The grand prize was won by Esewu Cele from Mpumalanga, South Africa (SA), who also survived an accident on his way to the event.
