Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (ESWADE) and His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) received the best overall exhibition award at the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2023

The award ceremony was held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition centre during the official closing ceremony of the Trade Fair yesterday.

The two stands received the same award for best overall exhibition, which was further divided into two parts. The category awarded as assessed by the judges while the other was the awarded through votes from visitors, the people’s choice.

The criteria for the award went beyond the attractiveness of the stand and further extended to the attractiveness of products and services that were showcased at the stands.

HMCS took home the award, as they were the people’s favourite stall at the trade fair with various products on display. ESWADE took home the award following an assessment by the judges.

ESWADE Corporate Communications Manager, Nokwazi Hlophe said looking at the theme ‘endless possibilities,’ it was in line with what ESWADE was about during the 10 day exhibition.

“The country will remember that last month His Majesty King Mswati III officially launched the Mpakeni dam, which forms part of the Ngwavuma water augmentation project. Similarly, all ESWADE projects all year round were in line with the theme. “All of our projects all year, the work we do and our mandate talks to improving livelihoods holistically,” said Hlophe.

She highlighted that the organisation was not just about agri-business but also portable water, health and sanitation as well as attaining zero hunger.

“We are relevant in 11 of the 17 SDGs so that is what we brought to the trade fair this year. We also brought the actual model of the dam itself to show the public what it entails in terms of opportunities for everyone,” she said.”

She said looking at the projects scope, it was easy to tell the magnitude afforded endless opportunities to all Emaswati in the form of subcontracting, health and all socio economic sectors.

Meanwhile, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo noted that members of the public came in large numbers, which he said was an indication that business was supported by the local and international consumer base.

“I would also like to congratulate all the exhibitors for the excellent work done in creating masterpieces in the exhibition stands “Unfortunately, we can only award trophies to a limited number,” said the minister.

Other winners included the Matsapha Municipal Council under Business Support Organisations (Youth), the National Agricultural Marketing Board (NAMBoard) for the best Agro Business while Limkokwing University of Creative Technology was awarded for being the best education and information stand.

The 13 Taiwan companies that exhibited throughout the 10 day period were awarded best foreign companies.
