Africa-Press – Eswatini. Newly promoted MTN Premier League side Rangers FC are out to upset Mbabane Swallows as they make their return to the elite division this afternoon.
The two sides will meet at King Sobhuza II Stadium this afternoon after the Beautiful Birds suffered a huge 0 – 6 loss at the hands of Green Mamba last week in the Trade Fair Cup final.
Rangers are confident they can cause an upset and kick them while they are down, according to Communication and Marketing Manager Mlungisi ‘Mluga’ Ndzinisa, who said they would give Mbabane Swallows a rude start to the new season.
The outspoken former Manzini Wanderers official said there was no way Swallows were going to win in their backyard and he was not even bothered by them being a big team.
He added that they were fully geared and they boasted an injury free-squad.
“A rude welcome awaits Swallows trust me. If you were there against Highlanders you could see we were all over them, but they rode their luck through.
“This season we are warning all teams that King Sobhuza II is a no go zone. No one will leave Nhlangano with something anymore as it will be an involuntary donation of three points from everyone, starting with Swallows,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows Assistant coach Siza ‘King Pele’ Dlamini said their past results particularly from the Trade Fair Cup were water under the bridge.
“We will not dwell on the past and what happened in our past matches. Our focus is on the first match of the season and making sure that we get full points from it. Our fans deserve to see the team win and the players are highly motivated for the match,” he said.
