Africa-Press – Eswatini. The total number of informal traders (282) operating in Matsapha town seems to have declined.
According to the council, this could be attributed to, among other things, the post-COVID-19 economic downturn that the town and country at large was facing.
The council mentioned that it was worth noting that fortnighters, union and steel and wire vending sites registered the highest number of vendors.
The council further mentioned that the majority of informal traders in Matsapha sold clothing, general vending as well as fruits and vegetables and the minority traded belts, shoes and handicrafts and did shoe repairs in the year 2022/23.
