Africa-Press – Eswatini. Manzini Wanderers head coach Nyangayezizwe ‘Crooks’ Hlophe has backed his side’s previous experience in defeating MTN Premier log leaders when they play Royal Leopard.

The maroon and white ensemble pulled off a shocking victory over Green Mamba who were log leaders at the time and today they will want to replicate that result against the current leaders, Royal Leopard.

Just as in the previous match, Wanderers are playing against a team that is on the opposite end of the log table and challenging for the title, while they, on the other hand, face the dreaded task of fighting off relegation.

The seasoned gaffer said he was confident his side could pull off another upset when they play the police side this afternoon at Mavuso Sports Centre, with a lot riding on the match for both teams.

“We will be playing against log leaders, it happened before as we won against Green Mamba. We will do the job and I just want to laud the players for the fighting spirit they have displayed even in these tough times. Supporters must come through, we will have a good game. We respect Royal Leopard but we want the win more,” he said.

He further said they were still working on how they could avoid conceding goals, saying despite playing many draws, they conceded a lot which was a signal that there was still a lot to work on to escape relegation.

Meanwhile, Royal Leopard coach Edwin Matsebula made it clear that he was aware of the threat their opponents carried despite their current position on the log.

“This will not be an easy game, as it has always not been easy playing against Wanderers, but the whole purpose is to collect maximum points.

The league is not a knockout game, we have to be consistent to win the league and we are not going to relax.

We have to take one game at a time and win the remaining games,” he said. Matsebula stated that they have no new signings and he will stick will the same squad, saying they have welcomed back their two key players Sikhumbuzo Magagula and Mancoba Maseko from injuries and their return had boosted their stability.

He also said their elimination from Ingwenyama Cup tournament would help them focus in the league as they would have time to position themselves for the league title race.
