Africa-Press – Eswatini. This year’s MTN Bushfire Festival line-up looks quite interesting compared to the previous edition.
With international superstars set to perform at the main stage, this year, the MTN Bushfire team has revealed that South Africa’s deep house phenomenon, Da Capo and ampiano vocalist Daliwonga have been added to the lineup.
This was revealed by the festival’s Creative Director Jiggs Thorne yesterday.
Renowned South African house DJ and Producer Da Capo join the line-up for this year’s Ballantine’s Firefly stage.
“The genre-bending producer has gained recognition for his distinctive blend of African rhythms and electronic beats, captivating audiences from all over the world!
“We can’t wait for his performance, proudly brought to you by Ballantine’s,” said Thorne.
“ Also Daliwonga will be serving amapiano anthems with his soulful vocals and infectious melodies at this year’s festival,” he said.
The two artists need no introduction in the industry as they have graced several stages locally such as Solani’s Shisanyama. The festival will be headlined by one of the continent’s most powerful voices, Limpopo born superstar Makhadzi, Thandiswa Mazwai, 2024 Grammy nominee Musa Keys, Bongiziwe Mabandla, and Nigerian global music sensation, Nneka to name a few.
Over the weekend, it was revealed that Eswatini’s Bholoja will once again steal hearts with his distinct voice and authentically Swati sound.
International artists who will grace the MTN Bushfire stage include Fetén Fetén from Spain, and Reunion Island’s DJ Sebb, who will get you on your feet with the rhythms of his deck. Thorne also announced that the golden lounge tickets (both online and MoMo platforms) to the festival were sold out. Emaswati can still purchase discounted tickets to MTN Bushfire 2024 with MTN Mobile Money. The MoMo tickets have moved to phase two.

Thorne said this special offer was only open to MTN Eswatini users who have registered with Mobile Money. He said the tickets could be purchased through MoMo Marketplace on WhatsApp.
“Simply send ‘Hi’ to 7808 4000 (‘MoMo Marketplace’) via WhatsApp, select Option 1 for MTN Bushfire and follow the prompts to buy. It’s quick, easy and convenient,” he explained.
He noted that the tickets were limited.
Full festival main arena and children’s tickets are available on the MoMo Marketplace.
Full festival and camping tickets can also be purchased through the MTN Bushfire website.
The 17th edition of Africa’s celebrated music and arts festival will be held from May 31 to June 2.
Named ‘Top African festival’ by the BBC and hailed by CNN as one of the ‘seven African music festivals you really have to see’, MTN Bushfire is a conscious, family friendly, eclectic celebration of some of the finest music in Africa and beyond.
“To ensure accessibility to the festival for emaswati, and to maintain the shared goals of supporting local that MTN Eswatini and Bushfire constantly strive for, a number of discounted MTN Bushfire 2024 tickets are available on MoMo Marketplace,” said Thorne.
“Electronic tickets will be downloaded directly to mobile phones so guests can Green Your Fire and save paper by using the e-ticket on their device to enter the festival. Tickets will be emailed as a back-up,” he added.

“We’re excited to partner with the Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) once again for the MTN Bushfire Arts Round Table (ART) – Eswatini’s foremost arts industry development workshop promoting skills sharing, digital media development and industry best practices across the continent and the globe,” he said.
Thorne noted that Arts Round Table will take place on Friday, May 31 at House on Fire, ahead of the MTN Bushfire Festival, from 9am.
Applications are open to performing artists and arts industry creatives in eswatini – including music artists, artist managers, music publishers, record label executives, poets, comedians and PR professionals.
“This year’s ART topics are: elevating under-represented voices, forging connections, youth empowerment and education, and fostering self-reliance,” said Thorne.
On another note, the festival presented UN Eswatini (UN) as the official title sponsor for MTN Bushfire’s social and environmental advocacy space, the Bring Your Fire Zone.
This partnership and the upcoming collaborative activities were unveiled on Wednesday at a media launch held at House on Fire.
MTN Bushfire’s partnership with the UN reflects the shared values of the Bring Your Fire mandate and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to foster sustained positive legacies in communities through the transformative power of the arts.
“ In this spirit, the UN and MTN Bushfire will be facilitating outreach programmes to mobilise collective action in achieving the SDGs through the festival’s call to action for positive social and environmental change, Bring Your Fire. The UN will further advance this through an inspiring programme in the UN Bring Your Fire Zone over the festival weekend,” said Thorne.The UN Resident Coordinator, George Wachira, presented the thematic topics for the Bring Your Fire UN Live Dialogues, which will be held in local tertiary institutions and at House on Fire.
