Africa-Press – Eswatini. Ahead of the COSAFA Senior Challenge in June, senior national team Sihlangu Semnikati is expected to have an assistant coach.
The annual regional soccer showpiece starts on June 4, as exclusively reported by this publication last week.
However, the head coach of the senior squad, Croatian Zdravko Logarusic, has played the last two internationals against Cameroon and Mauritius without a complete technical bench and interim staff as well.
It has since emerged that former Mbabane Highlanders head coach Milton Dlamini was the latest candidate among a handful others recommended to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) by Logarusic.
Currently away at home in Croatia, Logarusic is said to have received Dlamini’s Curriculum Vitae (CV) most recently and got impressed.
“There are few names I recommended to the EFA from the local league and Dlamini is the latest that I got a CV from but it’s with the EFA CEO as per your source,” responded Logarusic upon hearing the news had leaked.

He said it was up to the EFA to give him the assistant among the names he recommended.
Meanwhile, the source revealed that Dlamini was the head coach’s favourite after his CV proved just right for the assistant coach position.
This, Logarusic, according to the source, informed the EFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Frederick Mngomezulu.
“Based on his CV, he looks correct for the position,” Logarusic could only say in his response.
The gaffer is currently working with Anthony Mdluli as interim goalkeeper coach but without an assistant. He expects both positions to be filled, hopefully ahead of the COSAFA Cup 2025.
This year’s edition is billed for Bloemfontein in South Africa (SA) in the Free State. Meanwhile, there was no immediate comment from EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe.
