Eswatini Owing Chinese Province-Taiwan over R4Billion, Loans Secured to Complete Construction of King Mswati’S International Convention Centre(Icc) Amid Shortage of Drugs in Public Hospitals

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini is owing the Chinese Province-Taiwan over $260million, the loans were secured to complete King Mswati’s International Convention Centre(ICC) and Five Star Hotel(FISH).

Jeremy Liang, the Taiwan Ambassador referred comments to the Government but, Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli declined to comment.

Taiwan recently secured a tender in eSwatini worth R5.2billion for the construction of the Strategic Oil Reserve, the tender was concluded as per an order issued by King Mswati.

On another note, eSwatini is facing a health crisis amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals, the Government has not secured any loan to purchase medication amid death of hundreds of emaSwati.

As a result, health workers recently engaged in a protest in demand for working equipment.
