JAPAN ENDORSES ESWATINI AS GATEWAY FOR INVESTORS AND TOURISTS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Japanese Prime Minister H.E. Shigeru Ishiba has pledged his country’s support in boosting investment and tourism flows into the Kingdom.

During a warm and visionary bilateral meeting in Tokyo today, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini was received by the Japanese leader, where both statesmen reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the friendship between the two nations.

What unfolded was more than just diplomacy, it was a shared vision of progress. PM Ishiba described Eswatini as “a beacon of political stability and natural beauty in Africa,” saying these strengths make it a prime destination for Japanese investors and tourists seeking opportunity and adventure on the continent.

“The Kingdom of Eswatini holds great promise for investment and tourism. Japan is ready to stand beside her as a true partner,” said Ishiba with optimism.

The meeting also saw Eswatini receive a prestigious invitation to participate in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), to be held in August this year—a global platform where African countries engage with international development partners. PM Dlamini graciously accepted the invitation, marking another milestone in Eswatini’s growing presence on the global stage.

In his response, PM Dlamini expressed heartfelt appreciation for Japan’s longstanding support through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He praised the 50-year contribution of YKK to the Eswatini economy, highlighting it as a shining example of enduring Japanese investment.

“Eswatini and Japan are connected not only by diplomacy but by shared values of peace, respect, and progress,” said Dlamini. “We welcome Japanese investors and tourists with open arms and look forward to building a prosperous future together.”

The leaders agreed to explore further cooperation in areas such as trade, skills development, and technology—laying a strong foundation for transformative partnerships.

As Eswatini positions itself as a vibrant destination for global investors and travelers, today’s meeting with Japan sends a powerful message: the Kingdom is open for business, and the world is taking notice.
