Africa-Press – Eswatini. A refreshing wave of supporter culture is making its way into Eswatini’s football scene, led by a passionate Liswati football lover based in South Africa. The movement, known as Buhle Bema Supporters, is the brainchild of a devoted Mbabane Swallows fan, Buhle Dlamini who is driven by a mission to promote peace, unity, and positive energy among football supporters.
Inspired by the vibrant yet peaceful stadium experiences in South Africa, the founder, Dlamini, envisioned bringing the same atmosphere to Eswatini. “The goal is to create an environment where fans can enjoy football without fear, violence, or hostility. Football should unite us, not divide us,” according to organizing committee chairman, Mandla Madonsela.
In a further step to maintain order, Madonsela revealed that the organisers have engaged the Police Services to help oversee security during the games. “We have made our request to the police services to come and oversee peace during the games. We hope they will come to assist us,” he added.
The upcoming Buhle Bema Supporters Tournament is designed not only as a showcase of football talent but also as a platform to model respectful and celebratory fan behaviour. The initiative is determined to reshape supporter culture through music, coordinated chants, and a focus on fun, peaceful gatherings.
Top local teams set to participate include Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows, Moneni Pirates, Denver Sundowns, and Nsingizini Hotspurs. With such powerhouses on the lineup, excitement is already building.
As the campaign gains momentum, the football community is rallying around this positive vision. Buhle Bema Supporters is set to transform the matchday experience into something safer, more inclusive, and family-friendly ensuring the beautiful game remains a source of joy for all.
