Army Commander Fakudze Halts Inspection Calls for Prayer

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze has been stopped from inspecting a Special Parade that was scheduled to take place on Wednesday(2nd July 2025) at Nokwane Headquarters.

The troubled Army Commander is alleged to have informed Commanding Officers(COs) on Monday that there would be a “Special Parade” to award senior officers who participated in a Commonwealth meeting.

But senior Army sources who were part of the meeting with the Army Commander told that Mashikilisane Fakudze allegedly organized the “Parade” in an attempt to demonstrate that he was still in charge of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF).

“He has been stopped and Special Parade has been cancelled. The Army Commander had also planned to meet Indlovukazi with newly appointed Generals and meeting was to take place on Tuesday before the Special Parade, that did not happen as he was told to wait for the King, you can verify who stopped him, is it the Indlovukazi or there was an order above?. Now he has organised a prayer, all he wants to do now is to appear in the media and be seen addressing soldiers so that he can demonstrate that he is still in charge of the Army,” said the senior Army insider.

Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo said she was not aware of the matter and, will verify and respond accordingly.

On another note, Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze is a subject of a royal investigation for alleged corruption and dividing the Army, threatening State security.

As reporte, he allegedly “ran to Mozambique last week to consult traditional healers as he faces removal as the Army Commander”.

On another note, the Army Commander who is now a subject of a royal investigation was exposed by this publication for allegedly looting about R20million monies belonging to soldiers and subsequently closed the Burial Fund that was assisting soldiers with “imali yekulila” amounting to twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) when visiting families to mourn the death of another soldier.

But apart from that, the Commander Fakudze has been receiving five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) per-week as “litiya la-Commander” from Hlalawati, a Saving and Cooperative Fund belonging to soldiers, the looted monies since Fakudze took over as the Army Commander, amount to about R1million.

This publication previously reported that, the Army Commander informed Commanding Officers(COs) during a meeting held at Nokwane Headquarters that, King Mswati “has commissioned an investigation to investigate the allegations published against him”.
