Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Home Affairs has officially resumed its mobile civil registration outreach in the Hhohho Region, bringing birth, marriage, and death certificate services directly to local chiefdoms.

Following a brief suspension due to technical challenges, the mopping-up exercise restarted on Monday, 28 July 2025, beginning with Dlangeni under Hhukwini Inkhundla. The initiative is part of a nationwide push to ensure all citizens have their vital documents accurately and officially recorded, an effort that has been warmly welcomed by rural communities.

“This initiative is about inclusion, dignity, and service. Every citizen deserves easy access to registration services, no matter how remote their location,” said Mlandvo Dlamini, Communications Officer at the Ministry.

The Hhohho region schedule will cover communities in Dlangeni, Mdzimba, Msunduza, Fontein, and Sidwashini over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the Manzini Region continues its mopping-up campaign without interruption, offering similar services in Kwaluseni and Ludzeludze chiefdoms.

The Ministry is encouraging all eligible residents to take advantage of the opportunity to register and update their civil records. Possessing accurate documentation, officials stress, is crucial for accessing education, healthcare, social grants, and other government services.

“The convenience of this programme is a testament to the Ministry’s vision of service delivery that meets people where they are,” added Dlamini.

The renewed rollout reflects a broader commitment by the Kingdom of Eswatini to bring government services closer to the people, particularly those in underserved and rural communities. It is also aligned with the country’s vision to enhance citizen engagement and national data integrity.

For more details, the public is urged to contact the Ministry of Home Affairs or visit the nearest Inkhundla office on scheduled dates.
