Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has cemented its reputation as a leader in ethical business practices after earning a prestigious Certificate of Achievement from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
The recognition, received at the CIPS Africa Conference in Johannesburg earlier this month, marks EEC as one of the few organisations in the region to meet the Corporate Ethical Procurement and Supply Standard.
The certification affirms EEC’s unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and sustainability in how it manages procurement and its supply chain.
As part of the milestone, the company has:
.Aligned its corporate code with the CIPS Corporate Code of Ethics.
.Achieved 100% staff competency in ethical procurement practices.
.Secured a place on the CIPS Corporate Ethical Register, reinforcing public accountability.
EEC Managing Director Ernest Mkhonta hailed the recognition as proof that the company’s values are more than words on paper. “This recognition from CIPS is a powerful endorsement of the values we live by at EEC. Ethical procurement is a pillar of our business approach because we believe that how we conduct business is as important as the results we achieve,” he said.
Guided by its Vutsela Corporate Strategy, EEC continues to place integrity and transparency at the heart of operations. The company extended gratitude to its employees, partners, and suppliers for their role in earning this accolade and pledged to keep building trust while powering Eswatini with integrity.
