Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Government of Eswatini, through the Microprojects Programme, has allocated E4 081 248. 30 for the construction of a community hall at Bulandzeni. The project, launched today , will be undertaken by Mjekuza Investment, which has been given four months to complete the hall. Construction is set to begin in two weeks, with completion expected by December.

Community developer Buhle Dlamini announced Mjekuza Investment as the main contractor, adding that additional contractors will handle roofing and electricity. He explained that while government has committed 90 percent of the project cost, the community is expected to contribute the remaining 10 percent. Residents have already pledged to assist by building toilets for the facility.

The Chairperson of the Community Hall Committee said the community recognises its financial responsibility and has already raised E17 000, though more funds are still needed to meet the required contribution.

The Director of Mjekuza Investment confirmed the company’s appointment, thanking government and the community for the opportunity. He promised that the project would be delivered within the timeframe and urged residents to work hand in hand with the contractors.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Bulandzeni noted that the hall is a direct response to the community’s request submitted to the Microprojects Programme. He said the development would end long standing challenges of hosting meetings and events in open spaces during harsh weather conditions.

Bulandzeni residents welcomed the project, saying the new hall will help them host meetings, events, and cultural gatherings, especially during harsh weather conditions.
