Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini and the European Union (EU) have reaffirmed their shared commitment to a strong and enduring partnership following the successful conclusion of the 2nd Eswatini–EU Partnership Dialogue held today at the Royal Villas in Ezulwini.
The high-level Dialogue was co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu, and H.E. Karsten Mecklenburg, EU Ambassador to Eswatini. The participation of several EU Member State Ambassadors reflected the comprehensive “Team Europe” approach, underscoring the depth of cooperation between Eswatini and the EU.
The discussions were marked by a spirit of constructive engagement and built on the foundation of the OACPS–EU Partnership Agreement (Samoa Agreement), which provides a strategic framework for collaboration between African, Caribbean and Pacific States and the EU.
Shakantu and Ambassador Mecklenburg expressed optimism about the outcomes of the Dialogue, emphasizing that the Eswatini–EU partnership is well-positioned to foster shared prosperity, sustainable development, and community resilience on both sides.
As Eswatini continues to advance its national development agenda, the partnership with the EU remains a cornerstone for achieving inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable progress. The Dialogue has set a positive tone for continued collaboration in areas such as governance, trade, health, education, and climate resilience.
