Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Manzini Lions Club is set to host its inaugural Family Fun Day on October 25, 2025, at the Manzini Club, aiming to raise vital funds for community projects.

According to Simphiwe Mbutho Dlamini, the Marketing Chair, this event is designed to become an annual highlight, drawing families together for a day of fun while supporting a worthy cause.

“This is a fundraiser event, and the club envisions it as an annual occasion,” Dlamini stated. “Currently, the Manzini Lions Club relies on donations and sponsorships to run its operations, and the public and companies are invited to join in on this special day.”

The Family Fun Day will feature renowned South African artists, including the legendary kwaito group Trompies, DJ Fresh, and M’DU Masilela. The event promises entertainment for the whole family, making it a perfect day out for attendees of all ages.

The Manzini Lions Club plays a crucial role in the community, currently feeding over 650 children daily from four care points in Mafutseni, Ludlandlameni, Makholweni, and Mpaka Refugee Camp. The funds raised from this event will directly support these ongoing efforts, emphasizing the importance of community involvement.

The public is invited to enjoy a day filled with carnival games, performances, and delicious food stalls. “Together, a significant impact can be made in the lives of those in need,” Dlamini added.

Stalls are available for traders looking to participate in this vibrant community gathering. The event will run from 10 AM until late, featuring an array of activities including horse riding, a bubble house castle, zip-lining, and quad biking, ensuring fun for all attendees.

The Manzini Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, which boasts 1.4 million members across over 200 countries and is celebrated as the world’s largest service club. Established in Eswatini in 1979 and chartered in 1981, the Manzini Lions Club has a proud history of service, focusing on critical areas such as vision, hunger, diabetes, environment, and childhood cancer.

Through various initiatives, the club supports rural care points, distributes food regularly, and assists with infrastructure for vegetable gardens. Past projects have included providing glasses, funding cataract operations, and offering clothing to those in need.

As part of ongoing fundraising efforts, the Manzini Lions Club organizes golf days, bingo evenings, and now the Family Fun Day, which is hoped to become a staple event in the community calendar.

“All funds raised from the public go to support community needs, and the club is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who require assistance,” Dlamini remarked.

The Manzini Lions Club encourages everyone to attend the Family Fun Day, highlighting that participation can foster unity and strengthen community bonds. With a day full of entertainment and purpose, this event promises to be a memorable experience for all, reinforcing the spirit of giving and collaboration within the community.
