Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini is once again set to shine on the global stage as former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairperson of Philani Maswati, Lutfo Dlamini, prepares to represent the kingdom at the highly regarded 17th edition of the MEDays Forum 2025 in Tangier, Morocco.

The forum, which is held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will run from 26 to 29 November 2025. The event is expected to bring together over 300 prominent global figures, including leaders, policymakers, economists, and diplomats from more than 100 countries, reaffirming its reputation as one of the world’s most influential platforms for international dialogue and cooperation.

Dlamini will serve as Eswatini’s sole representative at the forum, joining an elite group of Heads of State, Nobel laureates, senior diplomats, and business executives. The discussions this year will centre on the theme “Fractures and Polarisation: Reinventing the Global Equation.” Participants are expected to deliberate on ways to strengthen global cooperation and promote economic harmony amidst the challenges posed by shifting political and economic landscapes.

Ahead of his departure, Dlamini reportedly expressed both pride and gratitude for the opportunity to represent Eswatini at such a distinguished gathering. He said that being the only liSwati among hundreds of global delegates was not only an honour but also a significant responsibility. He viewed his participation as a reflection of Eswatini’s steadfast contributions to diplomacy, peacebuilding, and trade relations across Africa and the wider world.

Since its inception in 2008, the MEDays Forum has gained international recognition for its focus on promoting dialogue, development, and mutually beneficial partnerships between the Global South and the international community. Over the years, the event has evolved into a key feature of Morocco’s diplomatic outreach and has been instrumental in shaping policy recommendations that inspire global collaboration.

According to Brahim Fassi Fihri, President of the Amadeus Institute and Founder of the MEDays Forum, this year’s event is expected to provide a platform for constructive discussion and influence. He explained that new ideas would be explored to build a more balanced and inclusive global order, one that considers the perspectives of all nations regardless of their size or economic status.

During the forum, Dlamini will take part in two high-level sessions. The first will be the MEDays Investments Summit Round Table, focusing on “Assessing Africa’s Competitiveness in 2025.” The second discussion, titled “Moroccan Diplomacy: Shaping African Sovereignty and Expanding Global Alliances,” will explore Africa’s evolving diplomatic influence and the continent’s growing role in the international economy.

Reflecting on Eswatini’s involvement in global forums, Dlamini reportedly highlighted the importance of small nations asserting their presence in international policymaking spaces. He said that every time he attended such gatherings, he was reminded of how vital it was for Africa’s voice to be heard. For Eswatini, he noted, participation in events like MEDays was not merely about attendance but about ensuring that the nation’s perspectives helped to shape global conversations.

Through Dlamini’s participation, Eswatini continues to demonstrate its dedication to international cooperation and diplomacy. The country’s presence at the forum reinforces its commitment to contributing to meaningful dialogue on global development, proudly flying the kingdom’s flag high among the world’s leading voices.
