Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has urged the nation to break free from the “prison of the mind,” emphasising the importance of faith, prayer, and God’s guidance during the End of Year Thanksgiving Prayer Service at Mandvulo Grand Hall.
Speaking to a congregation that included international guests and former heads of state, the King described such gatherings as a blessing from heaven. “God is indeed doing great things,” he declared, noting his joy at the presence of attendees from across the globe.
Focusing on the theme of mental and spiritual liberation, His Majesty explained that unseen chains often prevent people from recognising God’s power and presence. He highlighted that these “prisons” can stop individuals from believing in God and witnessing His work in their lives. “Situations may prevent people from seeing God, but today we thank Him for the great work He continues to do,” the King stated.
The King urged Emaswati to seek God faithfully, asserting that the nation begins and ends with God. He recalled recent declarations that Eswatini would become a spiritual “pulpit” and that billions in blessings are coming to the country. He encouraged believers to trust in God even when the form of these blessings is unclear.
“We must commit to God daily. We serve a God of miracles,” he said, reminding the congregation that miracles have already been declared over the Kingdom and that God honours those who believe. He emphasised the importance of gratitude and reverence, adding: “We ought to give Him praise and thanks. No one should be left behind during the rapture.”
His Majesty encouraged citizens to treasure opportunities to hear God’s word, noting that it brings strength, joy, and success. He urged prayers for the nation’s wellbeing, employment, and prosperity, affirming: “God does not sleep nor slumber. He will not leave us nor forsake us.”
Drawing lessons from the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the King reminded congregants that God walks with people even in times of trial. He led the gathering in the worship song Wahamba Nathi, reinforcing the message of God’s constant companionship.
The King also warned against placing trust in worldly possessions or temporary solutions, advising citizens to seek God’s counsel daily. “Leave Mandvulo as a different creature,” he said. “God is going to free us from the prison of our minds.”
Describing God as both a mighty warrior and a loving protector, His Majesty reassured the nation that the Holy Spirit is present in every corner of Eswatini, comforting those in pain and guiding those facing difficulties. He further noted that God’s influence extends across the African continent.
The sermon concluded with the King blessing the nation, reaffirming that God’s protection and presence remain steadfast over Eswatini and its people.
